Welcome to May and the last 3 weeks of school! We have an exciting week of Teacher Appreciation activities in store for you! I hope you know you are appreciated all year and not just week. :) :)
We have 15 more days to make a difference for children. You can do it! Sketch out all those fun activities and things you'd love to do and just do them. Try some new things! WEEKLY BREAKDOWN OF FESTIVITIES: Monday **Panera for breakfast (bagels, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee)** 4th Grade Field Trip to Ritter Springs Whitney´s Baby Shower at 3:30 Tuesday **Special Treat in the workroom** 2nd Grade Field Trip to Fantastic Caverns Crazy Socks Day (food pantry donation) Wednesday **MEXICAN VILLA for lunch.....Tres de Mayo instead of Cinco de Mayo:) :) :)** Fast Forward performance at 2:00 Thursday **Special Treat in the workroom** Lighthouse Team meeting at The Library Center all day 4th Grade SPED to Willard Intermediate Preschool Graduation at 6:00 Friday **AM donuts/coffee for breakfast AND Sonic drinks/treats from the Wellness Committee** Kindergarten field trip to the Zoo My Schedule-This is a busy week for me! I wanted to keep you updated on my whereabouts. M-I will be at Central Office for Asst Superintendent interviews 9-1 T-2nd grade field trip W-E-Team and A-Team meetings at Central Office 9-1 TH-Lighthouse Team meeting at The Library Center all day F-I WILL BE AT SCHOOL!!!! :) :) :) End of the Year Reminders- 1-DRA levels on spreadsheet by May 8th 2-Comments in Mastery Connect 3-Class Lists 4-Beginning of the Year Letter to Students (ADD TO THIS GOOGLE FOLDER...we will email it out to parents) 5-TalentEd--Self Reflection, SLO, District Growth Hours, Signed Observations and Summative Evaluation,,,still working on these :) Well, as you know the office runs smoothly each day because of these two OUTSTANDING and HARD WORKING assistants! They truly are AMAZING!!!! I could not do my job without these two individuals. Please help me celebrate all that they do this week for Administrative Assistant Day. I will be placing two baskets in the workroom for you to add some goodies. We will be presenting it to them on Friday morning...THANK YOU CARRIE AND STAN!!!! :) :) :) :)
Monday Meeting-Our Lighthouse Team will have a FUN team builder for everyone in the library at 3:30. The Lighthouse Team will be meeting immediately following. MAP Testing-Last week we finished up the Math portion of MAP testing. This week we will be have ELA testing on T/W for 4th grade and TH/F for 3rd grade. WE CAN DO IT!!!! Congratulations-I want to congratulate our TWO retirees this year. I am excited for Lori Ferguson and Debbie Harden to start this next chapter of their lives. I can't wait to hear about all of your new and EXCITING adventures!!! Pull out your teacher SUPERPOWERS and get ready for a fast and furious last five weeks of school! It is hard to believe that May is a few weeks away. Enjoy every moment and have FUN with your kiddos. They LOVE being at school and seeing you each and every day....make it the BEST!! :)
Monday Meeting-Action Teams will be meeting after school at 3:30. Admin Meeting-I have a few meetings at Central Office on Monday. I will be out from 9:00-12:00 with admin meetings and again at 3:00 for summer school. MAP Testing-This week we begin MAP testing for our 3rd and 4th graders. Below is the schedule for testing and changes for the special class schedule. Let me know if there are conflicts!
Field Trip-1st grade will be on a field trip to a Springfield Cardinal game on Tuesday from 8:45-1:45. Monday Meeting-Sarah will be leading us through MAP training in the library. We will start at 3:30 and should finish up by 4:00. I need all 3rd and 4th grade teachers, SPED teachers, ESL and paras to attend the training. --NO SPECIAL CLASS TEACHER MEETINGS AFTER SCHOOL--
Grade Level Meetings-We will meet on Tuesday in Stephanie's office. We will discuss end of the year info, DRA and MAP. Wellness Week-Don't miss out on these FUN activities!! Monday: Go Noodle Day-Aim to complete 5 minutes every hour with your class today Tuesday: FIT Dice- A handout will be in your box that day with more information on how to play. Wednesday: Screen Free After School-Look for student Pledge Sheets in your boxes. Thursday: Recess Rocks (Today is also Spring Pictures)-The following stations will be set up at recess. Students may come and go, as they like from each station during their scheduled recess time. Please limit students to 10 per station. --Yoga, Hip Hop Dance, Ballet, Football Drills, Tag Games, Tai Chi, Tae Kwon Do, Pal Boxing, Smoothie Sample -- Picture Day-This Thursday is individual Spring pictures and class group pictures. These will take place in the gym. HERE IS THE SCHEDULE...let me know if you have conflicts. Monday Meeting-Central Office will have a MET insurance meeting at 3:30 in the WS library. Please make sure that you have read the email from Shelly Vaughn.
Crazy Hair-Tuesday is crazy hair and food donation day! Let's help stock our food pantry! Kindergarten Screening-Tuesday is a BUSY day for our building. We have a PACKED house for K screening. We will be using the computer lab, learning space, counselor's office and library. Please be on the lookout for eager future WS tigers. :) :) :) Meetings-I just want to apologize for ALL of the meetings that I have had recently. It has been a big transition for our district with new Central Office staff and HS principal. WHEW...exciting and nervous all in one! I will be out all day Wednesday for admin meetings and Thursday most of the day with Asst Superintendent interviews. Lighthouse Meeting-Our Lighthouse team will meet Wednesday at 7:30 in the library. K Music Program-Don't miss our K music program on Thursday at 2:45 and 6:30. |
