Professional Development Plan-Just a reminder that these are due on SEPTEMBER 14th through TalentEd. You need to choose 2-3 goals and must use wording/goals from our summative form.
Tiger Spirit-Please feel free to show your tiger spirit by wearing WILLARD attire on Fridays! GO TIGERS! Instructional Excellence-We have a total of 960 hours for Instructional Excellence this year. I need you to fill out this form by next Friday, September 7th so I can determine the number of participants. This will allow me to calculate how many hours each participant is allotted this school year. First semester plans will be due on Friday, September 28th. Newsletter-I am working on the September newsletter and it should go home with students on Friday. Please let me know ASAP if you would like something added. :) :) Writing Prompts and DRA Dates-Below are the dates for our district writing prompts and DRA dates. Student Schoolwide Discipline Incentives-We will begin having FF extra PE, special table in the lunchroom, point system in the lunchroom, and golden stars on the front hallway display starting the week of September 4th. I will put gold stars in your mailboxes next week. You will have students write their name on the star and add it to our HOLLYWOOD star wall in the front hallway for demonstrating the character ed word of the month. Questions...please ask! Be on Time-PLEASE make sure you are picking your class up on time for specials, lunch and recess. We have a VERY tight schedule and it makes it difficult when you are late. I know that sometimes you just get busy or look at one of our many clocks in the building that have different times....I AM GUILTY TOO. However, we need to respect others and their time. Don't take advantage! THANKS in advance for your cooperation! :) Calendar of Events-Don't forget to check our calendar of events on a regular basis. I am always adding exciting new information. If you would like for me to add something, just send me an email. Hollywood Decorations-I am LOVING all of the Hollywood decorations and Read the Wall displays. Everyone is so creative. I am in Pinterest heaven right here at Willard South!!! Grade Level Meetings-We will begin next week. (Special Education Teachers---please let me know what grade level you will be joining this year) Below are the start/end times.
We had wonderful first day of school! A big thank you to everyone who helped with ALL of the extra duties. I heard LOTS of compliments from staff members, students and parents. THANKS for working so hard and making the first day a memorable experience for everyone.
Tiger T-Shirt Order-Don't forget to add your student sizes and teacher sizes to the Google doc by next Friday. ***Remember the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for student sizes and staff sizes. :) Below are pictures of the graphics that will be on the left front chest and the back of the shirt. End of the Day Dismissal-I think our new process of having ALL students go down the 3rd/4th grade hallway went very well. In fact, I think it scared the office staff a little bit when they looked down the 2nd grade hallway at the end of the day and it was all clear! Here are a few suggestions and reminders.
***I would like the gym cleared of Kindergarten and 1st grade bus riders BEFORE 2nd-4th grade students arrive in the gym. Our lines become too long and children begin following shiny objects or other people and get in the wrong bus line. Questions...please ask! Have a wonderful weekend! Try to get some rest before we head into a full five day week. :) We are off to an amazing start to the 2012-2013 school year. I want to thank everyone for all of their hard work in creating our building improvement plan on Monday. You collaborated and implemented some great goals and strategies to guide us this year. I know that this will help us stay focused and drive our meetings as well as classroom instruction.
Meet the Teacher Night-WOW! We had a great crowd on Tuesday evening. Your rooms and hallway decorations look wonderful. I heard lots of positive comments from parents and students. Don't forget to send your attendance slips, enrollment verification forms, health forms and volunteer applications to the office this morning. (that is a LOT of paperwork!) Group Pictures-We will meet in the cafeteria for our group picture at 8:30. I thought a perfect place might be the stage for our Hollywood theme. Don't forget your feather boas, sunglasses or other fun props! (J Extra PE on Monday-I have placed the schedule under the Resources page on my blog. Please take a look and let me know if you have any major conflicts. We will begin this after Labor day break on Monday, September 10th. This will give Lori some time to meet with Sara Watkins and plan her motor lab activities. Don't forget CADRES at 9:00 this morning followed by LEADERSHIP TEAM at 10:00! Cadre/Leadership Team Sign-Up Sheet-Please sign up here for cadre and leadership team for the 2012-2013 school year. REMINDER...I need one grade level rep for each cadre.
PTO/Volunteer Program-I would like to thank everyone who attended the meeting last Thursday evening. We had a GREAT crowd. I believe there was around 20 people who attend!!! I was a little overwhelmed...this was a GOOD thing!! The decision was made to dissolve our PTO and begin a volunteer program for this school year. Sarah Baumgardner has created a form with detailed information about all of the volunteer opportunities for parents and community members at WS. The office is currently copying these forms for you to give to parents during Meet the Teacher Night. So, PLEASE try to promote this new volunteer program. Here is a copy of the volunteer form! You will notice that several volunteer opportunities will require participants to fill out a background check form prior to starting. This is for any person who has direct contact with students. This is a copy of the volunteer release of information form and must be filled out and sent to the office prior to the volunteer starting. Beginning of the Year Info-I usually put together a handy dandy folder with LOTS of paperwork for you to read. It is full of important information regarding lesson plans, when to call for a sub, my expectations of recess, extra duties...This year I am NOT putting together a folder for you to read. Instead I added that information to my Resources page. Please make sure you take a look and read the information because you are responsible for the content. If you have any questions, please ask! Tiger T-Shirt Sizes-Please make sure you get sizes of shirts for your students during Meet the Teacher Night. You can use this form for parents to add the size of shirt for their child. After you collect the total number for each size, please add it to this master list along with teacher sizes on the tab at the bottom. I will be placing the FINAL order for shirts on Friday, August 24th. ***If I left your name off of the list, please add it to the bottom. SORRY :( |
