Monday Meeting-Action Teams will be meeting after school. If you are a facilitator and need to meet, please email your team members the time and location. If you are not meeting, you can use this as a plan time.
Tuesday Grade Level Mtgs-We will be discussing SLO's, TalentEd and math.
Tuesday Trivia-I will place a copy of "Are you ready for Christmas?" activity in your mailboxes. You can turn these in to the office once you have completed the sheet. PRIZES for participating and top 3 winners!!
Tuesday Hat Day-Don't forget that Tuesday is hat day...bring in a canned/boxed food item!
Lighthouse Team-Just a reminder that our Lighthouse Team will be meeting on Wednesday morning at 7:30 in the library.
Springfield Little Theater-The Springfield Little Theater will be performing Junie B. Jones here at Willard South on Wednesday, December 7th at 9:00 in the cafeteria. EXCITING!!!
Door Decorations-I will be taking pictures of your holiday door decorations at the end of the day on Wednesday. We will vote online for the most festive door and announce the winner next week.

Thanksgiving break is the BEST! You get five days off to eat, spend time with family, take long afternoon naps, put up your Christmas decorations, get caught up on some movies you missed and more! I hope your break was enjoyable. These next three weeks are going to fly by, so make them AMAZING!
Habit #6-This week you will jump back in by discussing HABIT 6 SYNERGIZE during your LEAD time. This is a great time to do some class and team builders with your students. Don't forget to check out the resources in the LIM Google folder!!
Monday Meeting-The Lighthouse Team will be sharing some news with the staff after school. We will start with a fun game in the gym at 3:30...compliments of our SUPER FUN BOOSTER CLUB members!! We will then move to the library for out meeting. We should be finished by 4:15.
Grade Level Meetings-We will be meeting in Stephanie's office on Tuesday. It has been awhile!!
Tiger Pride Assembly-Tuesday is our November Tiger Pride Assembly. I need your MOST VALUABLE TIGER today! We will have our MVT lunch on Friday from 11:00-12:30.
WOW-Enjoy some special treats in the workroom starting at 11:00 on Wednesday. WHY...because we ALL need to eat some more! :) :) :)

Monday Meeting-Our Lighthouse Team will be meeting from 3:30-4:30 in the library. The agenda will be posted on my blog under the Lighthouse Team page. Please let me know if there is anything that you would like us to add to the agenda.
Nurse-We will be placing NURSE OFFICE PASSES in your mailboxes. If you are sending a student to the nurse, they must have a pass. (unless it is a true emergency of course) These passes will ensure that students are being seen for the correct injury/illness. It will also help Brandy document this in SISK12. She has to log every visit! Did you know that Friday alone she saw over 80 students? WOW! We only have one nurse and we need to make sure she is seeing kids who truly need medical attention...not just a mint, ice pack or nap. :) :) :)
November Tiger Pride Assembly-I will need the name of your MOST VALUABLE TIGER by Monday, November 28th.
It is crazy to think that Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! How is the world is it almost....CHRISTMAS! I hope that you take time this busy season to truly appreciate all of the wonderful things in your life. Too many time we wish our days away and in the blink of an eye...they are gone. So, enjoy these next six weeks and all the things that we often take for granted.
Varnish-Here is the VARNISH SCHEDULE for Monday. It will take place in the computer lab.

Veteran's Day Assembly-Our Action Team has been working really hard to prepare for our Veteran's Day Assembly on Thursday. Please make sure that you read all of the information that they are sending out. I have seen some GREAT student work displayed in hallways and hope to see even more. Below are a few reminders.
1--11/17 (We will use the Half-Day schedule.)
2--Have hallway displays with student work --focus on Veterans or Patriotic theme displays (See the Veterans Assembly file for hallway display ideas)
3--Switch out your Fight-Free flag with your classroom USA flag (Please let a committee member know if you are in need of a flag.)
4--Include information about the upcoming Veterans’ Assembly in your classroom blog and/or newsletter
5--Third and fourth-grade teachers, have students write thank you cards for the veterans. (Mrs. Stephenie will give you paper for your students to use.)
6--Participate in Thank You video (A student leader will come to your classroom on assigned day (Assigned Day will be determined at a later date.) to shoot a 15-20 second spot of your class saying thank you to the veterans for their service. However, if you would like to be creative and record your own spot for the veterans, that is fine. Send your recorded file to Patrice Tuttle.)
7--Request parents have their children wear flag colors

8--The Veterans’ Assembly will be featuring the 2nd Grade students in their Music Program @1:30 PM.

Friday Thanksgiving Dinner - The district provides our meal on Friday! You do not need to sign up this year.
Well, I think the guest speaker today demonstrated the meaning of being flexible! Despite his rocky start, his message was inspiring. I hope you walked away with some great tools for your tool belt. I am looking forward to trying out a few myself.
Community Input Meetings-The Willard Public Schools Board of Education has selected McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development to assist them in the important task of selecting superintendent candidates for the board to interview. The consultants will be meeting with community members to gather input regarding the qualities of the next Superintendent.There will be two meetings held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. One meeting will be held atWillard South Elementary 4151 W. Division, Springfield, MO, and the other meeting will be held at Willard School District Office, 500 E Kime, Willard, MO. These meetings are open to the public. Anyone who wishes to give input into the search criteria for the next Superintendent of Schools is welcome to attend either of these meetings.
Lighthouse Team Meeting-Our building Lighthouse Team will be meeting with Renee Slack, a former principal at Osage Beach and now a LIM Coach, all day on Thursday. We will be meeting in the computer lab. We will be focusing on embedding the habits with students/parents/staff, implementing Student Leadership Teams, discussing community time, and looking at building schedules. Please let me know if there is something else you would like on our agenda.

Picture Retakes-Wednesday is picture retake day in the music room. You will need to send all new students and those who need retakes at the scheduled time below.
Parent/Teacher Conferences-If you have not dropped off a copy of your schedule to Carrie, please do so ASAP. Parents received an email from Angela Stevens regarding the new progress reports. This included a VIDEO and HANDOUT. I also emailed parents a copy of their child's 1st quarter progress report this morning.
Star Summit-Here is the link to our Star Summit on November 8th. You need to make sure you take a look at the schedule prior to next week.
This week we are focusing on going deeper with Habit #3: Put First Things First. This always hits home for me when I think about my weekly schedule, prioritizing my day, looking at my "to do" list, and then taking some time for reflection. It reminds me of the BIG/little rocks and what quadrant I have been spending my time. I hope you take some time to PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST and reflect on your LIM journey this week.

Thursday Assemblies-We have two assemblies planned for Thursday. :0 The HS Theater Department will be performing at 10:00 and our 3rd graders will perform at 2:45.
Out of the Office-I have a curriculum meeting at Orchard Hills on Monday morning and should be back by noon. I will be gone all day on Thursday to Camdenton Middle School for a LIM meeting with area LIM schools. I will be also be leaving around 12:45 on Friday for a few dr's appointments for Jada. Busy week!
Monday Meeting-We will have a faculty meeting from 3:30-3:40 in the library. Our Lighthouse Team will meet until 4:30 following our faculty meeting. If you have anything to add to our Lighthouse Team agenda, please email Lindsay Wallace. I will post the agenda prior to our meeting.
No Grade Level Meetings-We will not be meeting this week due to grade level planning day with Stephanie.
Admin Meeting-I will be gone from 8:45-4:00 on Wednesday to E-Team, A-Team and a Leader in Me meeting at Central Office on Wednesday.
Parent Book Study-Please make sure you send ALL order forms for our parent book study to the office. I will be placing the order on Wednesday.
Habit 2-Thanks to Betty & Alex for adding additional resources to our HABIT #2 folder. This is a great time to have your students begin setting goals. If you have any goal setting templates that you are using with your students, please add them to our HABIT #2 folder.
SkyZone-Here is the LIST OF STUDENTS who sold 20 or more items. They will be going to SkyZone on Friday, October 21st. They will be called down to the office to eat lunch around 10:45. We will leave WS at 11:30 and return around 1:45.
Tiger Pride Assembly-Next week is our October Tiger Pride Assembly. You need to submit the name of your MOST VALUABLE TIGER by this Friday. We will have our special lunch together on Friday, October 28th from 11:00-12:30.
Monday Mtg-We will have a curriculum meeting with Stephanie in the library starting at 3:30. Special class, Speech and Title teachers will meet at WS with their department co-workers.
Class Party-Please enter your class party times for Friday the 14th HERE!!!!!
Half Day Schedule-We will follow the half day schedule on Friday, October 14th. We will dismiss students at 12:25 & 12:27. The afternoon is teacher work time!! Just a reminder that the Mastery Connect window will close on Monday, October 24th at 8:00 am so we can generate 1st quarter reports.
Grade Level Mtgs-We will be meeting on Tuesday in Stephanie's office. You need to make sure you have entered student DRA levels in the spreadsheet that Stephanie shared this week. We will also be filling out Reading Improvement Plans for 3rd and 4th graders. (3rd--level 24/below and 4th--level 34/below) We will be using this one page (front/back) RIP form this year. I will also be copying/handing out this DRA parent letter for you to use at parent/teacher conferences.
